Agricultural equipment finance.

The right machine needs to be ready when the work is. Build a funding plan around seasonal income, the delivery timetable and the role the equipment plays on the farm.

Before you compare

  • Tractors, harvesters and farm machinery
  • Allow for seasonal income
  • Plan delivery and commissioning

Align the machine with the season

Record the equipment specification, attachments and timing of its first intended use. An order placed well before delivery may require deposits or progress payments, which need to be understood separately from final settlement.

Consider how weather and production variability could affect the income used to repay finance. Ask about available repayment structures, but do not assume a seasonal schedule is offered by every provider.

Evaluate the whole ownership plan

A larger machine may improve capacity but also increase transport, storage, fuel or servicing costs. Compare the purchase with other operational choices, such as contracting work or replacing a machine later.

For used equipment, look at hours, condition, parts availability and service support. A machine that is inexpensive to buy can become costly if it is unavailable during a critical period.

Prepare the quote and operating context

  • Itemise tractor, implements and attachments
  • Explain how the machine supports the operation
  • Identify delivery or import dependencies
  • Allow for maintenance and seasonal downtime
  • Check the term and end-of-contract obligations

What to prepare

  • Itemised machinery quote
  • Seasonal cash flow information
  • Delivery and deposit schedule
  • Existing equipment and finance commitments

Common questions

Are seasonal repayments always available?

No. Availability depends on the provider and proposal. Ask for the exact schedule rather than relying on a general product description.

Can implements be considered alongside a tractor?

They may be, but should be listed clearly with individual values and descriptions.
