Explain who is borrowing
Have the business name, ABN or ACN, structure and ownership information available. The lender may need identification and other information for the relevant people involved. Provide sensitive documents only through a verified, secure process.
Show the financial position
- Recent business bank statements
- Profit and loss and balance sheet information
- Tax or activity statements if requested
- Existing loan, lease and credit commitments
- A cash flow forecast with the proposed repayments
Explain the request, not just the number
Write down the purpose, amount and timing. For equipment, attach a supplier quote and asset details. For a purchase transaction, explain the price, your contribution and relevant conditions. For invoice finance, prepare the receivables ledger and customer terms.
If a period of trading was unusual, explain what happened and provide evidence where possible. A clear explanation is more useful than leaving the lender to guess.
Requirements differ
There is no single document list that guarantees an approval. A lender may request additional information based on the amount, structure, business history and product. “Low doc” does not mean no assessment or no obligations.
What to prepare
- Business identity and structure
- Current financials and bank records
- Purpose, amount and timing
- Evidence specific to the asset, invoices or transaction
Common questions
Should I upload financial documents to the Atlas finder?
No. The current finder does not request or accept sensitive documents. It creates a brief you can save.
How many months of statements are needed?
Requirements vary by provider. Ask for the exact list for the proposed product rather than assuming a universal period.
General information only. Product terms and availability vary. Check the actual proposal and obtain advice appropriate to your circumstances.
